Sunday Services of Holy Eucharist
Rite I – 8:00 AM – This service is in the traditional language of the Episcopal liturgy. The 8:00AM service is spoken, contemplative, and there is no music.
Rite II – 10:00 AM – This service is in the contemporary language of the Episcopal liturgy from the 1979 Book of Common Prayer. The 10:00AM service is accompanied by organ and choral music. Our organist and choirmaster, Lynnette Combs, is especially adept at mixing traditional and contemporary music which enrich all of our services.
Children and families are invited to any and all services. The northwest corner of the sanctuary has a child-size table and chairs along with coloring materials and books to make their time in the sanctuary more enjoyable. We welcome the energy and voices of children to our worship service, even on the rough days.
The 10:00 service tends to have more children, as that is when our church school meets when it is in session. On the fourth Sunday of each month, children are invited down to the front of the sanctuary for a short children’s message connected to the adult reflection for the week.
At Christ Church, we practice “Open Table,” which means that everyone is invited to receive Communion no matter where one is on one’s journey of faith.
